Wireless and Customizable Xbox-Licensed Arcade Stick from 8BitDo

8BitDo has revealed a new arcade stick licensed by Xbox, which will be released later this month. The wireless accessory features customizable controls and interchangeable arcade buttons. The announcement coincides with the launch of Street Fighter VI.

Although not the initial arcade-style joystick accessory and not even the first of its kind by 8BitDo, the Xbox Arcade Stick may be worth considering based on the company’s track record of producing quality controllers. The joystick is highly customizable, allowing users to remap buttons and swap out physical buttons with various sizes. Furthermore, the mounting plate of the joystick is said to be compatible with almost all arcade sticks ever produced.

The wireless accessory connects to a 2.4G adapter or a wired adapter with the included USB-C cable (about 10 feet). The accessory also has a 3.5 mm audio jack for connecting headphones. 8BitDo estimates battery life at 30 hours without headphones and 20 hours with headphones on. The charging time is estimated to be around four hours.

8BitDo Arcade Stick is compatible with Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Windows 10. It comes in black and white color options and costs $120, which undercuts its more popular competitor, the Hori Fighting Stick alpha for Xbox by $80. The 8BitDo Arcade Stick for Xbox will be officially released on June 30 and is available for pre-order on Amazon.
